In 1982, vaulting became an equestrian discipline
recognized by the FEI (International Equestrian Federation). The
first European Vaulting Championships were held in Ebreichsdorf,
Austria in 1984. The first World Vaulting Championships took place
in Bulle, Switzerland in 1986. Today, World Vaulting Championships
are held every other year, either as part of the FEI's World Equestrian
Games (every fourth year), or as a standalone event.
