See the winners of the Gambler’s choice perform their routines. And test your skills in our fun events.
Gambler's Choice
is a fun barrel pairs event. You may sign up for this class up til 6pm on Wednesday at Check-in.
Each person enters individually and then is paired with a vaulter from another club.
The pairs will be posted by 8am on Thursday at the Fest Office.
The 2 vaulters have most of the day to get together and prepare a 1.5 minute barrel routine.
Random vaulting music will accompany the pair while they perform to further enhance the performance and challenge the vaulters.
Competition begins at 4:30, with awards at the BBQ. The top 3 pairs will perform at the BBQ.
The winning pair will each receive a Gambler’s Choice Champion Silver Belt Buckle!
Tournament of Skills
Fun challenges will be open to anyone at no charge on Thursday at 5:00.
CASH PRIZES FOR 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD PLACE WILL BE $20, $10 and $5.
Handstand contest: Winner is the longest held handstand without touching the ground or other support.
Leap Frog: All participants will be spaced in a circle, with each person in turn jumping over each of the others by putting hands on the person’s shoulders. Everyone will start in a low crouched position for the first round and get a little taller each round, until everyone is standing full height. Contestants will be eliminated if they cannot clear someone or land the jump.
Longeur’s whip contest: Each participant will have 4 chances to knock a can off of a table with a whip. The winner will be the one who knocks off the most.
If time permits at the BBQ, there will be a Round II for the top three from each of these contests with challenging added requirements (and, of course more cash prizes)!
Theatrical Barrel
for those vaulters interested in showing off their special talents:
The first 3 groups of 1, 2 or 3 vaulters and/or parents to sign up Thursday morning will be given a bag with a music CD and props.
They will come up with a 1 to 2 minute barrel routine utilizing the music and props.
These will not be judged but will be for entertainment at the BBQ. All participants will be given a special prize.
